SELFMANN WEIDEN BAVARIA W GERMANY Roses ON WHITEBeautiful Platter - PERFECT CONDITION
"Perfect" This platter is unused and is in perfect condition with no utensil marks, chips, or cracks. The gold trim is also still perfect and shows no signs of wear.
It is marked W. Germany, which infers it was made prior to the reunification of Germany in 1990. I cannot locate the pattern on the company website so it must have been discontinued some time ago.
I also have a five piece place setting that matches this piece, and I am happy to combine shipping should the buyer desire both listings.
From their website:
Seltmann Weiden is one of the most well-known porcelain manufacturers in Germany and was founded in 1910 as Christian Seltmann porcelain factories. With the incorporation of the "Royal Privileged Porcelain Factory Tettau" in 1957 and the takeover of five Thuringian porcelain manufacturers, Seltmann Weiden developed into a group of companies that is still managed as a family business. The group has more than 200 years of experience in porcelain manufacturing.
Today, tableware for the household, hotel, catering and social catering sectors is manufactured in 5 plants with around 800 employees. Valuable figures are handcrafted in the factories.
The production know-how of the Seltmann Weiden group is extremely wide and ranges from high-tech production in one of the most modern porcelain factories in Europe to pure, traditional craftsmanship in the factories at the Rudolstadt (Thuringia) location. Due to its wide range and the long purchase options of many collections, Seltmann Weiden's household porcelain primarily appeals to families. With its high demands on design, durability, functionality and exclusivity, the porcelain from Seltmann Weiden is also reaching more and more target groups. Constant reliability, know-how handed down from generation to generation and environmentally friendly production techniques can only be guaranteed at the traditional production locations in Germany - that is what the "Made in Germany" seal of quality stands for.
