Rare Salt Glaze Large Stoneware Pitcher France Gray/11" tall/ French Country

We are happy to be able to offer for your consideration a handmade salt glaze pitcher made in France. It has the classic Alsatian color of gray with vivid cobalt blue accents. Hand potted, this pitcher is in excellent condition. There are no cracks or repairs on this Pitcher. It is important to remember that this was not a display item but rather a working piece of pottery that has put in decades of duty. That is part of what makes it so beautiful. It is also  functional.. It is still very usable and functional. This is a European milk or cream pitcher.
Large French Salt Glaze Pottery Pitcher Marked 3 below the handle. A beautiful gray salt glazed pitcher that is accented with a cobalt blue daisy motif on the body of the pitcher. Double blue band around the neck. A somewhat large pitcher at 11" tall. The number 3, marked below the handle, to show it will hold 3 liters, and it really will hold 3 liters, we tried. (see photos.) A wonderful example of Salt Glazed pottery, a vintage piece of pottery that is in near perfect condition. Most pieces that I have found and seen are usually only 5-6" tall. This one is 11" tall, - Cobalt Flow blue design. Unsigned.
