Mid Century Union Hardware Roller Skates Vintage 1950s-1960s No. 5 Antique Toys

Description

This is a vintage Mid Century pair of Roller Skates by the Union Hardware Company of Torrington, CT.  The skates are marked Union No. 5 (referencing the size).  The old metal skates date from the 1950s to 1967.  The pair has been in my family, first worn by by aunt in the 1950s, then myself in the late 1960s.  They have been stored in the attic since that time frame.  The old metal roller skates attached to the bottom of shoes and could be adjusted to fit.  (The original skate key is missing.)  The skates are in decent shape and I expect they can be cleaned to remove rusty spots and grime.  The original leather straps are still functional.
The Union Hardware Company of Torrington, Connecticut began business in 1864 selling ice skates, then over the years added in various other sporting goods including golf clubs and roller skates.  Production of roller skates ceased in 1967.
